Flag Size Controversial issue of Violation of Flag Code
Lulu Mall in Kochi, Kerala, where a Pakistani flag is seen
higher and larger than the Indian flag
Why is the flag of Pakistan bigger and higher than the tricolor of India? This is a violation of the flag code. There is a festive atmosphere in India these days. While the Cricket World Cup is going on, great deals are being given on online shopping. In such a situation, if you see an ad for Lulu Mall on your feed, you cannot stop yourself from watching it. Today it happened that the first feed on my mobile was Lulu Mall. Those who know Lulu Mall know very well that its malls in India, as well as Gulf countries, are exemplary.
Lulu Mall Kerala
But here was something different and that was that on the occasion of the World Cup, Lulu Mall in Kerala had decorated one of its malls in which the flags of all the countries that are participating in the World Cup were flying. The controversy is that the tricolor of India's national flag is smaller in size than the national flag of Pakistan and it is also placed lower than the Pakistani flag.
Flag Code
Journalist Pradeep Bhandari posted a picture of Lulu Mall and wrote that this picture is of Lulu Mall in Kerala. To celebrate the ongoing Cricket World Cup, Pakistan's flag is hoisted over the Indian tricolor. This is a violation of the Indian Flag Act, and concerned authorities should take notice of this. A user named Maharathi posted a picture of the flags displayed at Lulu Mall and wrote, "It's not in Lahore, Peshawar or Islamabad, it's in Kerala!! This picture was taken at Lulu Mall in Kochi where flags of different countries are displayed to celebrate the World Cup. He further wrote that according to the Flag Code, "no other flag should be hoisted above, higher than, or adjacent to the tricolor". Simultaneous display with other flags is not permitted. He tagged Lulu Mall owner Yusuf Ali and wrote, "Why is Pakistan's flag higher and bigger than India's flag?" What message are you trying to convey to your customers through this? Are you trying to say that Pakistan is a priority for you?'
Same Size and Mounted on the Same Surface
But others have answered these objections in clear terms. Srikanth KMR criticized BJP and wrote that 'BJP's IT cell is the world's biggest fake factory. It will end soon. It may take time but no one will believe them in the future. In fact, all the flags are of the same size.''A user named Dharmesh Jatt wrote that all the flags are of the same size and mounted on the same surface. If you look at it from a different angle, the other flags will look bigger. It depends on which angle you look at it. How to take a picture? And from which floor are you taking the picture?
Fact-Checking Website
Muhammad Zubair, co-founder of the fact-checking website Alt News, has also called it fake. He wrote, "Many right-wing influencers have shared a picture of Lulu Mall in Kochi, Kerala, where a Pakistani flag is seen higher and larger than the Indian flag." But this is not the reality. All flags are of the same size and at the same level.
