Dramatic developments started in October 2022 when Elon Musk
paid $44 billion to acquire Twitter (now X).
Social media platform X (Twitter) has introduced audio and video calling features for users. This is the first time that X has introduced a feature like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and WhatsApp. Audio or video calling features were not offered on the X for the past decade and a half, but several changes were announced after Elon Musk bought the company.
Introduced on the Platform
It was initially reported in May 2023 that the video and audio calling feature would be introduced on X and now Elon Musk has announced that the initial version of audio and video calling has been introduced on the platform. According to the report of the foreign news agency "Reuters", after naming Twitter X, Elon Musk said that he intends to turn the platform into a super app, with messaging and social networking. Many features will be offered from one to another to transfer money. To use this feature, first, you have to go to the settings of the app select "Enable audio and video calling" and turn it on.

Now the person who wants to call has to go to the DM and click on the phone icon which will be present in the upper right corner of your screen and can call by choosing audio or video call. This feature is available on X's official account. was not announced, but X wrote, “Are you ready for this?”
Premium Subscription
However, it is not yet clear how many countries this feature has been introduced in or whether it can be used by regular users apart from premium users. According to The Verge, last month the creator of the hashtag and open-source advocate Chris Messina wrote that users will have to sign up for a premium subscription to use this feature.
Web Version
However, X did not immediately respond to the comment, which means the company has yet to clarify which users can use the feature. Earlier, Elon Musk said in a short tweet that the feature will be presented simultaneously on the web version as well as the application, that is, people using Twitter on laptops and computers, including Android and iOS users, will also be able to view videos and videos. Payment Feature on Twitter
However, users using computers and laptops in addition to mobiles will need other devices including headphones to use the above feature. Elon Musk also confirmed that the audio and video calling feature will not require a mobile number, meaning the feature will work just like Facebook Messenger's audio and video calling feature.
